TRIPPING / SLIPPING

Ensure site is clean & tidy. Ensure equipment cables are routed in a safe manner to avoid trip hazards

Low

FALLING

Ensure working at height is minimised. When essential ensure operatives have received safe ladder handling training.

Low

MANUAL HANDLING

Where lifting siting and manoeuvring the tree ensure operatives have received Manual Handling Training.

Low

ELECTRIC SHOCK

Ensure only low voltage components (typically lights) are used. Low voltage solar or battery operated lights have been obtained for the purpose.

Low

CUTS / ABRASIONS

Ensure absence of burrs/sharp edges on metalwork (tree supports). Cover with cloth if working near supports.

Low

MOVING VEHICLES

Recommend high visibility jacket is worn. Maintain vigilant watch for vehicles operating on site. Keep well clear of moving vehicles at all times.

Low

FALLING OBJECTS

Once secured, falling of the tree is very unlikely but extreme weather conditions could potentially cause fatigue of the fixings. Ensure fixings are checked following high winds (40mph and above)and replaced/repaired if necessary.

Low

OBSTRUCTING CARRIAGEWAY

Tree is secured to fixings behind stone wall with building sheltering it from winds in the direction which would potentially cause falling toward the carriageway.
